I don’t know about you, but I often find my mind scattered among a myriad of tasks, distractions that catch my attention, and self-judgments for not having everything under control. I fantasize about becoming the person who can be ‘good enough’—if only I could muster the will to make the necessary efforts to navigate through my chaos. We live in a world where everyone is competing for our attention. When they succeed, they gain our power. But what if we chose not to give it away?
In this article, I introduce the idea that true abundance begins with embracing the belief that you are already enough, just as you are. Recognizing abundance as both being and having enough can help you release anything rooted in a self-limiting mindset. Here are 5 tips to reboot your attention with more ease:
- Rediscovering Your Inner Abundance
- Breaking Free from a Scarcity Mindset
- Embracing the Power of Enough
- Cultivating a Growth Mindset for Abundant Living
- Transforming Struggle into Appreciation
Rediscovering Your Inner Abundance
Learning to appreciate who you already are and what you already have might feel unfamiliar or even counterintuitive. Without realizing it, you may have developed a habit of clinging to struggle and scarcity. Why you got yourself into a situation where you can’t feel your inner abundance isn’t as important as breaking free from it by simply starting to believe you have already arrived.
Breaking Free from a Scarcity Mindset
You can take a step back and decide what value you want to give to some of your or someone else’s thoughts about what you are currently missing. You can decide whether you want to get involved, believe those thoughts, and act on them, or let them go. Nobody can take that power away from you.
Embracing the Power of Enough
In order to let go of those thoughts, you have to ground yourself in something that will center you and cut out the noise. You need a new thought that will replace the scarcity one with one that you can genuinely believe. This is where enoughness comes in. Can you seriously believe you are not enough? Are you appreciating everything that you have somehow brought into existence?
Cultivating a Growth Mindset for Abundant Living
As with anything we want to grow, we have to cultivate it. This is not about striving to become better than what we are but learning to access our inner abundance on a daily basis, which will transform our lives into one of abundant living. I highly recommend Lovingkindness Meditation as a beautiful way to start. Real Love: The Art of Mindful Connection by Sharon Salzberg is also a great resource.
Transforming Struggle into Appreciation
When we learn the skill set to embrace the inherent struggles and challenges that come with being human in our world today, transformation starts to happen in and of itself. We are accessing our inner abundance, which has been there all along. We are redirecting our attention to appreciating the abundance of what we already have.
Now is the time to let go of any scarcity patterns, clean them up, and embrace our inner abundance. Embracing ease in a world of struggle is a radical act of self-compassion and empowerment. By challenging limiting beliefs, shifting our perspective, and cultivating a mindset of self-referral and self-trust, you can allow things to feel more abundant in your life. Remember to let go of the struggle, embrace the concept of being enough, and cultivate a mindfulness practice that will help you ground yourself as you let go of self-limiting beliefs and distractions. By doing this, you will witness how miracles unfold before your eyes due to the appreciation lens through which you now choose to look at life.
